Modification of Adobe Commerce (Magento) for Kazar’s e-commerce entry into the Ukrainian market

Kazar, known in the Polish market for its elegant footwear and accessories, has decided to expand its business. For this purpose, it chose the Ukrainian market. To achieve this goal, the company partnered with Exorigo-Upos, a technology solutions provider, to adapt Kazar’s e-commerce systems to the new market.

Introduction

The project aimed to implement solutions based on the Adobe Commerce (Magento) platform. The task was to adapt a system already proven in the Polish market to support the new Ukrainian market. This included, among other things, new delivery methods, updating order statuses, managing pick-up points, and adapting the payment process to local regulations.

Exorigo-Upos, which had already integrated the e-commerce platform with the No Limit system for Kazar took on this task. As a supplier, the company has also cooperated with other customers, such as eobuwie.pl (Modivo), Amica and 8a.pl in developing international online sales channels.

Solution

A comprehensive implementation of new functionalities on the Magento platform is planned. The main tasks included:

  • Providing new delivery methods, which included integrating with Ukrainian courier companies such as Novapost and Ukropost and offering cash on delivery.
  • Automatic update of order statuses based on data sent via the ECI forwarder’s API.
  • Management of pick-up points in Magento with the possibility of data synchronisation in the same system.
  • Customs value calculation mechanism in a dedicated system integrated by Exorigo-Upos with ERP Kazar.

During the project, the team encountered several significant technical challenges that required specialized solutions.

For example, to ensure seamless communication between the Magento system and the ECI forwarder’s solution, a proxy microservice was designed, which allowed the process of updating order statuses to be automated and increased operational efficiency.

In terms of pickup point management, the team implemented a module that enabled data synchronisation and its presentation on the website in a simple way, making it easier for users to choose the right pickup point.

In addition, a system was created to calculate the customs value of international orders, which was crucial for the correct settlement of orders in the context of exchange rate differences and customs regulations.

Summary

The project of preparing Kazar e-commerce to enter the Ukrainian market was a complete success, thanks to the team’s flexible approach and the effective implementation of advanced technological solutions.

Adapting the e-commerce platform has enabled Kazar to expand into a new market with full online store functionalities adapted to local standards.
