Transformation of reporting and planning in the Auchan Polska network using Oracle Hyperion and proprietary Exorigo-Upos solutions in JAVA technology

Auchan is an international chain of hypermarkets and supermarkets originating from France, which has been operating on the Polish market since 1996. It opened its first store in Piaseczno near Warsaw, and today it has over 70 outlets throughout the country. In addition to traditional hypermarkets and supermarkets, Auchan also manages convenience stores under the Moje Auchan brand, offering quick shopping in smaller spaces. The company is also developing online sales channels through the e-commerce platform, home deliveries, and personal collection of orders

Challenge

The dynamic development of Auchan and the increasingly complex processes in the areas of finance, controlling, sales and logistics required:

• Centralisation and automation of reporting,
• A consistent financial planning tool,
• Integration of data from multiple sources, including financial, sales and logistics systems,
• Daily reporting of operational results for individual stores,
• Ability to adapt systems to changing market conditions and business strategy continuously.

Solution

Exorigo-Upos, a company specialising in IT systems for finance and controlling, was chosen as a technology and implementation partner. We have been cooperating for many years, including both implementation and ongoing maintenance and development of systems.

The Exorigo-Upos team designed and implemented a comprehensive application environment based on:

• Oracle Hyperion Planning – for managing planning and budget processes,
• Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) – for integrating data from source systems,
• Exorigo-Upos’ proprietary solutions in Java technology – supporting non-standard processes and customisations.

Scope of implementation

• Automation of the process of calculating the monthly bonus for store employees,
• Compliance with the adopted performance indicators and sales results.
