Cycling section: summary of the activities carried out so far

The trend in January is summaries. So we are joining it, and before we show off our projects and transaction records, we will tell you a few facts about our cycling section, but from a slightly wider, 11-year perspective.

2023 was the eleventh season of its activity. Last year, you could meet our colleagues in characteristic blue outfits on the routes in the vicinity of:

• Milicz and the Ryszard Szurkowski Bicycle Path,
• Zwierzyniec, Szczebrzeszyn, Zamość and the Roztocze National Park,
• Uniejów and the route along the third longest river in Poland,
• During the Frruuu rally, we took 5th place among 229 teams! When we looked at 11 years, the total number of kilometers traveled and trips was quite impressive.

The individual achievements of the selected members of the section are also impressive:

Artur Łukasik and Marcin Półtoraj completed their cross-border expedition. From Zgorzelec, along the Neisse River, and later the Oder River, they reached the famous R10 to continue along the coast to Gdynia, covering a distance of over 900 km in 7 days.

Michał Czubkowski completed a mountain marathon with a distance of 1540 km in 5 days (!).

We boast about numbers, but the section itself is essentially about something else: spending time together. It’s about building bonds, getting to know each other better, and shortening the distance—for joy and endorphins.
